Mission & Vision & Values

AIMS Mission
The American International Medical Society (AIMS) is a nonprofit medical organization comprised mainly of American healthcare professionals of international origin. AIMS mission is to transfer new and advanced medical skills to its members’ countries of origin in a sustainable way while serving needy patients and providing continuing medical education.

AIMS Vision
All people of the world deserve good health care.  By transferring medical skills and by encouraging healthcare development in our member’s country of origin we strive to:

  • Enlist a sense of “giving back” to our countries of origin as international medical graduates who have had the privilege of education and practice in the United States; thus, to transform the American “brain drain” of many of the world’s brightest health care professionals into a “brain gain” for all countries.
  • Build new and rebuild old international bridges of caring and cooperation through the sharing of global humanitarian beliefs, values and goals.
  • Spread the best possible evidence-based and technologically advanced healthcare through all means available in order to fulfil our global responsibility to improve world healthcare

Core values
Sustainability
We support enduring, continuous medical education, beginning with existing levels of knowledge and technical skill, in collaboration with local physicians and training centers, through American International Medical Graduates who strive to share their knowledge and skills with their country of origin.

Charity
Central to our mission is the provision of care and relief for all peoples, including the poor.  We strive to provide and teach health care methods that have the potential for application in the world community.

Cooperation
We are committed to work and act together with integrity with our international partners, striving for harmony for the common good rather than individual achievement, seeking synergy to achieve global results that are greater than the sum of what could be achieved as individuals.
